Black kitchen based on KOAK Design and IKEA METOD
The KOAK Design method
KOAK Design makes solid wooden fronts that fit exactly on IKEA METOD kitchen cabinets. Your IKEA kitchen will be upgraded and transformed into a true designer kitchen. We recommend choosing IKEA's black kitchen cabinets.
Our kitchen fronts are roughened to make the grain more visible and then treated first with a black stain and then with black hardwax oil, giving you a beautiful matt wooden kitchen in black.
We started doing this IKEA Hack in 2009. Since then, we have been able to supply fronts for more than 3,000 kitchens. We are still surprised by the many possibilities of our concept.

Possibilities for a black kitchen
The options for a black kitchen with wood are numerous. For instance, styles such as industrial, country and chic all suit a black kitchen. Furthermore, a concrete (look) kitchen worktop, a marble kitchen worktop or a white worktop look great with a black kitchen. Nowadays, we often see black taps and a herringbone floor with dark kitchen can also be called a trend. Kitchens come in small to large and can also feature a kitchen island.
The wooden fronts and products
Our wooden kitchen fronts are available in four wood types; solid oak, bamboo, Barnwood and walnut veneer. Solid oak and Barnwood can be supplied in black! In addition, with oak there is the option of a Shaker pattern. The overview of kitchen doors can be viewed on this page.
Furthermore, at KOAK it is possible to purchase accessories and appliances directly when ordering the kitchen. These range from handles, to extractor hoods and cooking stoves. All these products can be found here.

Price indications
We charge a fair price for our kitchens. Our connection to IKEA enables us to keep the prices of our kitchens affordable. Curious? Take a look at the price examples page.

We love nature's design
Our oak wood is solid in order to preserve its unique natural look. This means that there are knots in the wood and that the annual rings are visible at the end of the wood, unlike veneers or wood built up in layers.
We work mainly with European oak and bamboo. The wood we use is FSC-certified. Both are natural materials that are already very beautiful without treatment. Treatment with a protective oil is therefore sufficient for everyday use.
Bamboo has the property of growing very quickly, selective cutting means that, by definition, there is no deforestation. Bamboo has a high degree of hardness, stability and durability.
Mosaic, concrete and natural stone worktops also adapt very well to our kitchens, because each worktop has its own design.
