What are bohemian kitchens?
A bohemian kitchen is characterised by a warm atmosphere, plenty of colour and a mix of all sorts of different materials, such as wood, rattan, bamboo and linen. In terms of colours, you often see combinations of muted earth tones (such as terracotta, ochre and olive) and striking colours (such as bright pink or vibrant orange). A Bohemian-style kitchen also makes extensive use of plants, creating a lovely botanical feel. A boho kitchen therefore features a mix of many different colours, patterns and textures. You’ll also find plenty of personal accessories in this sort of kitchen, such as souvenirs you’ve brought back from your travels. Or unique vintage items, combined with modern eye-catchers. Or a cosy collection of all sorts of mismatched tableware. In short, a bohemian style is a lovely eclectic mix: a bit of everything, but without it looking cluttered.
What colours are bohemian?
Typical bohemian colours are warm, earthy shades such as terracotta, olive green, ochre, sand, beige, taupe, rust, soft pink or burgundy. And if you’re going for a boho-chic style, you can add a brighter contrasting colour, such as hot pink, purple or turquoise. And don’t forget to add plenty of plants for that essential touch of natural greenery.
You can have our kitchen fronts spray-painted in any RAL colour, but of course you can also opt for a wooden kitchen look. Feel free to order a sample board to see what our materials look like in real life. The worktops are also available in all sorts of colours. If you’re after a typically bohemian worktop, you could opt for natural stone, quartzite, terrazzo or a concrete-look finish. Just make sure the worktop doesn’t look too sterile or austere.
